Art at Home
Make your valentine some paper flowers this year! All you need are scissors, pipe cleaners and tissue paper.
Cut your tissue paper into rectangles, smaller or larger depending on what size you would like your flowers
Layer at least four sheets together and then make approximately one inch folds back and forth (like when making a paper fan).
Wrap the pipe cleaner around the middle and twist together.
Gently pull up each layer of tissue starting from the top until all your petals are unfolded.
Check out the photos below or this short video and you will have a bouquet in no time!
For more art at home activities check out the amazing offerings of the African American Museum in Philadelphia! They have an extensive series of virtual camps and workshops for all ages for Black History Month and beyond.
We hope everyone is staying warm and well and that we see you soon!
