Gratitude from NLArts!

Check out upcoming events, art to do at home and other creative news you can use!

Thank you for your support of the Gala!

We had a fantastic time together at Liberty Lands and appreciate the support of Ortleib’s, Standard Tap and Urban Village with the delicious food and drinks as well as Hochstadter’s who contributed to our raffle!  Our performers were amazing -- thanks to them for sharing their talents with our community!  And big thanks to Penn Treaty Special Services District for their ongoing generous support.  Check out more pictures from the event on our Instagram!

VOTE on Tuesday, November 3!

Make your voice heard this Tuesday, November  3 by remembering to vote!

We are grateful for the use of the Northern Liberties Community Center window to get the voting message out and share some of the art we wheat pasted this summer!  Check out the NLNA website for more information about voting in the neighborhood.

Day Off Camp on November 11...

Looking for something to do when school is off on Veteran’s Day?  NLArts will be offering a virtual Day Off Camp in partnership with the Center for Art in Wood!  We will  be doing a wood themed art activity and all materials are included. Pick up your supplies on Saturday, November 7 at the Northern Liberties Community Center and then join us via Zoom on Wednesday morning.  In addition to our art making we will also enjoy games and community time!  Sign up here!

Don’t Miss Craft Now Create!

You don’t want to miss the Craft Now Create event happening on November 7! Join for virtual instruction or you can make seven different craft projects at home anytime.  Grab a supply bag at one of many locations (Clay Studio, Al Aqsa and Center for Art in Wood are all close!) and get busy creating!  All the details are here - check it out...

Art at Home

Poet Lindo’s virtual poetry class is reading, writing and drawing and they will be Curating the Center this month with an upcoming window display. In the meantime, our blog image is a sample of their work,  beautiful “black out” poems by Meri H. and Jill.  They covered lines from the poem, The Giver by James Baldwin to create a poem of their own.  You too can try this with any poem or text --here is a great video tutorial -- all you need is something printed and a pen!

NLArts is so grateful for our community and the opportunity to nurture and celebrate the creativity and care we have here --keep safe and well and warm this season of Thanksgiving!
